What’s for Dinner? Fish-n-Chips!

Serve up fish-n-chips with fish that takes a fryer like no one’s business. You want the finest ingredients for this weekend’s dinner. Yes, Ordercrabs.com is synonymous with the Best Maryland Blue Crabs around; but for an exclusive event, we offer freshly caught & then flash-frozen fish.

Live a Little! Try Pan-frying your fish!

Do you find Fish-n-Chips a “safe” choice when you visit a new restaurant? Wise move. Most chefs prefer cod or whiting when cooking this crowd pleaser.

Get the ditty!

Take your fresh fillets and make sure they are no more than ½ inch thick. Any thicker won’t allow the crispy morsels to break away, a selling point for fish-n-chips. Then in a small bowl, whisk egg whites, ¼ cup nonfat milk, and 1 tsp honey. In a larger bowl, mix ½ cup crushed oats, 2 tsp. roasted onion flakes, 2 tsp. minced garlic, 1 tsp. Old Bay, ¼ tsp. freshly ground black pepper, and ¼ tsp. cayenne pepper. Dip your fillet in the egg mixture and then coat with the “oat crumbs.”  Place in the fridge for 15 minutes so the coating can set. Finally heat extra virgin olive oil in a pan at medium-high heat. Pan fry until golden-brown, about 7 minutes per side. Now that’s a Fish-n-Chip Meal worth talking about!
